Fleet Info

Southend (Corporation) Transport operated a varied fleet of trams, trolleybuses and motor buses.  We will be adding some fleet lists and other records here as time permits, but the following resources may be of interest.

Vehicle record cards:

We have the original index cards recording basic vehicle details for the following vehicles:

Trolleybuses 112 to 152

Buses 203/4/7 to 310, 317 to 322 (first vehicles with these numbers), plus the second vehicles numbered 200-2/5, 210-4.

Paint shop records:

We have the hand-written record books detailing vehicle repaints for the period 1950 to 1964, listing the work undertaken and materials used.  A sample entry is reproduced here.  Individual entries can be scanned and supplied as pdf files on request (maximum five), please contact us if interested.

Fleet lists:

Whilst we do not have any available here yet, we have paper copies of official and unofficial fleet lists for many dates, particularly 1980s onwards.  Copies of individual lists can be supplied as pdf files, please contact us if interested, stating the date(s) required.  Maximum five different lists.
